Seasonal Camp Fire ban now in effect June 1st 2023

The warm/dry weather is here and with it comes the seasonal wildfire restrictions. Seasonal camp fires are now banned as of June 1st 2023.

Bylaw 102 is now also in effect and there are some changes. Please take a moment to review the bylaw and learn about what is allowed during High Early shift and Extreme shifts. It also has a list of safety equipment required for any industrial activities during these two shifts.

Please remember that someone is required to stay on site after industrial activity for 2 hours in order to make sure no fires develop.

The G.V.F.D. has already responded to two illegal dangerous fires this season. We are asking the community to get informed, take precautions, and learn about the new regulations.

If you would like to learn more, please join us on Saturday June 3rd, from 12-4 at the Albert Reed Memorial Hall #1 on 730 Church street for our Open House. The equipment needed for industrial activities will be on display and members will be available for any questions you might have regarding High Early shift, Extreme, and bylaw 102.

Thank you and stay safe everyone!
